more.grains

Hello all!! Hope you are having an amazing week so far! This week I'm doing a double task; adding more whole grains and starting a Daniel fast! Crazy I know but its working....kind. Since I am not eating meat, sugar or other processed foods I am learning how to get what my body needs in other ways. I've started taking vitamins, eating more fruits and veggies, and adding more whole grains like brown rice. I have always been a big fan of brown rice, but now I'm adding more to my diet. I am also learning that I am having to get my calories else where because by getting rid of the junk that I normally eat, I am not taking in the amount of calories my body is use to causing my body to crazy more. For example I have cut my calories in half going from about 3000 to 1500 in 72 hours....should have done this gradually lol. How are you guys doing? Give me some feedback

Be blessed

what doesn't kill us makes us stronger!!

Yesterday was hard!! Breakfast wasn't so great and neither were the rest of my meals, BUT I did exercise!! I went walking with my best friend. We are doing the healthy new year new you together! It helps when you have someone there that can motivate and push you. I am even considering putting a little wager on it with him...what should it be? These past 4 days have been hard. My body is happy because I am no longer starving it by going without for 12 sometimes 16 hours, however, remembering to eat breakfast is harder. I barely remember to do my day to day stuff let alone remembering to eat breakfast. It has come to the point where I stick a post it on the bathroom mirror to remind myself to grab a banana in the morning lol. Hope it's going a little easier for those reading this!! Feel free to leave your comments and encouragement. They are most appreciated.

its going to take time...a whole lot of precious time

Well I did eat breakfast as I mentioned earlier...lunch however was a different story. I had a late lunch which consisted of a kids portion of mac n cheese and cod fish. Not what I would normally eat but its way way better than what I would normally eat lol. I would normally do junk for lunch and what I mean is candy, popcorn, and chips...not the best I know. Dinner was way worse than lunch....cheese sticks, corn bread and left over black eye peas. What a wonderful combination!!! At least I am starting to eat breakfast...which when it comes down to it is the most important thing!

Sweet dreams,
Tasha

Hello 2012

New year, new me! I know that is most of our thoughts not just this year but every year. This year however I didn't make a resolution to get healthy, I demanded myself to get healthy. I signed up to do Food Network's healthy eating challenge and have decided to blog my progress not only with their challenge but with my own.

The Food Network challenge is month long challenge with a different theme every week. This week's challenge is to eat breakfast every day. Yesterday I had 3 strips of bacon, toast and apple juice. Today I had some strawberry banana yogurt and some orange juice. I think I am starting off great considering I usually starve myself until whenever I remember to eat or start getting the hunger headache. I know that my eating habits are not the best and that they need to change that's why I'm doing this challenge.

Hope you all enjoy my blog and I encourage you to change whatever it is that you want to change about yourself. I also want to mention that i will be consulting my doctor throughout this process and if you are doing something to change your weight I also recommend you consult your doctor, to ensure that the plan you decide on is best for you, as my plan for myself will be different than yours.

Happy 2012,
Tasha
